Unlike many developed countries that have sufficient resources and preparations to become aging societies, as a developing country, Thailand is not ready to become one yet. Thai people are likely to have insufficient savings to support their basic needs before getting old. As more peoples are inevitable getting older, the number of workers who can pay tax will decrease. On the other hand, the country needs more fundings to provide support to the increasing number of incapable elders. Therefore, the country may eventually become indebtedness. Even though, Thai society can still handle the current number of senior family members with the available assisting technologies and the current number of capable family members, soon the situation will be more challenging as those currently capable members will get older and become less capable as well. Therefore, it is important to equip senior adults, who are still capable, with the suitable and age appropriated skills that allow them to get paid. With the suitable skills, the elders can still gather more saving to support their own lives even after passing the age of retirement. As a result, the younger members of society will be responsible to less burden.

Most universities in Thailand are equipped with educators and technologies, and they routinely give lectures and training sessions in different courses across different platforms in a normal basis. Therefore, the universities can curate suitable knowledges and training courses to upskill, reskill, or establish new skills for the senior adults. “Retirement Classroom” is a project established by Rajamangala University of Technology Isan. The project aims to create a learning platform that is easy to access to encourage a lifelong learning environment targeting the senior adults who want to upskill, reskill, or establish new skills that allow them to get paid after retirement. The learning platforms contains 100 courses that are available online and onsite. The online courses can be accessed via the “Retirement Classroom” webpage, http://rtc.rmuti.ac.th, where the users can sign-up for free. On the other hand, the onsite courses were previously held in the 5 different learning centers including.
